Frankly we have no idea what this is all about, because as far as we are
concerned, CNN long ago became a politicized, ratings-starved farce, wrapped in
a joke inside a humiliation (after once upon a time being the only go to place
for objective breaking news), but it is rather funny. The
Hill reports that "a White House petition calling for the deportation of CNN
personality Piers Morgan, a U.K. citizen, over his recent comments criticizing
U.S. gun laws rocketed past the 25,000 signatures it needed for an official
response Monday. As of this writing, nearly 40,000 people had signed a petition
demanding “Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the
Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television
host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.” A petition on
the White House's “We the People” website needs 25,000 signatures in the first
month of being posted to earn an official administration response. “I don't care
about petition to deport me,” Morgan tweeted Monday. “I do care about poor NY
firefighters murdered/injured with an assault weapon today. #GunControlNow.”
Politico adds:
More importantly in this case, a Brit desperate to stir up a popular response and any social outcry for those all important TV ratings and, of course, the year end bonus?
Well, he achieved his goal.
Those who wish to endorse making Morgan a UK problem can do so here.

We expect a counterpetition by UK citizens demanding that Morgan be prevented from reentering his homeland at all costs, to appear momentarily.
Politico adds:
Back to The Hill:CNN anchor Piers Morgan isn’t benefiting from much Christmas cheer, at least according to one measure: the number of signers on a petition urging the White House to deport Morgan has skyrocketed by Tuesday morning past 60,000 names.
The petition, created last week, had 60,080 supporters and is posted on the White House’s official petition site. It slams Morgan for comments he has made regarding gun control in the wake of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed 20 children and six adults at the school.
By Monday, the petition had passed at least 25,000 signatures — the number required to receive a White House response.
So let's see: a Brit unhappy with the Second Amendment and knowing best how to override the US constitution? The furor over Morgan’s comments began after a contentious interview between the CNN host and Larry Pratt, the executive director of Gun Owners of America.
During the interview on his CNN show, "Piers Morgan Tonight," Morgan hammered Pratt and his defense of the 2nd Amendment and American gun laws.
"The argument I keep hearing is 'well if everybody else was armed, it wouldn't happen.' It's a load of total hogwash," Morgan told Pratt and other gun rights advocates who appeared on the show.
"How many more kids have to die, before you guys say, 'we want less guns, not more?'" Morgan added.
His comments came as Pratt and others discussed the recent Sandy Hook School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, in which 27 people -- including 20 young children -- were shot by 20-year old Adam Lanza.

Well, he achieved his goal.
